In the case of rentals this takes the form of an application process where credit and FICA checks (often done through TPN, a registered credit bureau), previous landlord and employment history etc are verified to protect the landlord. A similar process takes place with buyers. The agent is able to keep the owner fully informed and provide feedback as the process progresses.
